SE95 temperature sensor

NXP ( Philips Semiconductor ) introduces the SE95 temperature sensor . The SE95 is a digital temperature sensor which use a  Sigma Delta analog-to-digital conversion technique.

The device is also a thermal detector providing an overtemperature detection output.

The SE95 temperature sensor  provide also a over temperature detection .

The SE95  use some registers ( which can be accessed via I2C interface ) like Configuration register (used to store the configuration like sampling rate ) , Temperature register (to store readings of temperatures ) , Set –point register to store the overtemperature limits and identification register to store the manufacturer numbers .

The SE95 can be configured for different operation conditions :

-normal mode which monitor periodically the ambient temperature

-shutdown mode which minimize power consumption

The SE95 temperature sensor  offer high resolution of the temperature ( with five decimals ex. 0.03125 )  . For normal operation and compatibility with the LM75A  only the 11 MSBs are read, with a resolution

of 0.123 °C to provide the accuracies specified. To be compatible with the LM75 read only the 9 MSBs.

Main features of the SE95 temperature sensor are : Pin compatibility with LM75/LM75A , I2C-bus interface to 400 kHz with up to 8 devices on the same bus , Supply voltage from 2.8 V to 5.5 V , Temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C , 13-bit ADC that offers a temperature resolution of 0.03125 °C , Temperature accuracy of ± 1 °C from -25 °C to +100 °C , Programmable temperature threshold and hysteresis set points , Supply current of 7.0 mA in shutdown mode for power conservation , Stand-alone operation as thermostat at power-up .
