Audio power amplifier presented in this electronic schematic circuit is based on the LM3876 audio amplifier IC which is capable of delivering 56W of continuous average power to an 8 ohms load impedance with low distortion ( 0.1% THD+N from 20Hz–20kHz) .
To build a audio power amplifier based on the LM3876 we need just few external components .
For the LM3876 audio power amplifier we need to use a 35 volts dual power supply .
Main features of the Lm3876 are 56W continuous average output power into 8 ohms , 100W instantaneous peak output power capability , Signal-to-Noise Ratio ≥ 95 dB(min) , an input mute function , output protection from a short to ground or to the supplies via internal current limiting circuitry , output over-voltage protection against transients from inductive loads , wide supply range 20V - 94V
The Rin potentiometer mounted on the input is for setting the voltage level allowed to the amplifier’s input terminals.
CM is for muting circuit and is used to create a large time constant for turn on/off muting.
Cs capacitors are used for power supply filtering and bypassing.
