Infrared audio transmitter electronic project
Using this electronic circuit can be made a infrared audio transmitter which can transmit audio signals over a certain distance without using cables.
The circuit uses a pulse width modulation (PWM) which, although not recommended for Hi-Fi audio applications.
The transmitter is built using LM567 integrated circuit .
Audio signal (with amplitude of at least 50 mVw) is amplified by transistor T1 and then used the modulation circuit IC1. Pin 6 of 567 circuit is tipping entry so that the audio signal is superimposed on a triangular high frequency signal (about 50 kHz). This will cause the output rectangular signal pulses have modulated in time. The rest of the integrated circuit is used as a buffer so that 567 can directly control infrared LED D1. Transmission frequency can be adjusted through potentiometer P2, between 25 and 40 kHz.
