5 volt power supply circuit project using LTM8021

A very simple 5 volt power supply circuit project can be designed using the LTM8021 and will provide a maximum current up to 500mA. Almost all required parts are included in the package : switching controller, power switches, inductor, and all support components. This 5 volt power supply circuit based on the LTM8021 operate over a input voltage range between 3V and 36V .
The LTM8021 supports an output voltage range of 0.8V to 5V, set by a single resistor. Only an output and bulk input capacitor are needed to finish the design.
Some features provided by the LTM8021 step-down regulator are :
wide input voltage range, 500mA output current ,fixed 1.1MHz switching frequency ,current mode control, programmable soft-start .

Why to use this type of voltage regulator instead of a common three terminal voltage regulator ? because this regulator circuit project can be used over a wide range input voltage and it has a high efficiency , providing a high accurate output voltage and many other features using few external electronic parts .
